May: Thyroid Awareness Month
May is dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of the thyroid, a gland essential for regulating multiple bodily functions and maintaining quality of life.
In 2026, the LATS campaign theme is “In the Era of Quality of Life: The Role of the Thyroid”, highlighting the relevance of thyroid hormones in physical and mental well-being, as well as in overall health.
Throughout the month, educational content and informative videos will be shared, aimed at both the general public and healthcare professionals. Key topics will include myths and facts about thyroid disorders, the impact of thyroid hormones on well-being, and emerging therapeutic approaches that contribute to improved quality of life.
As part of this initiative, a special live session will be held on May 25, in recognition of World Thyroid Day. During this event, experts will review the main topics discussed and address questions from both the public and healthcare professionals in real time.
